I strongly believe in the 3 principles of public purchasing: transparency, objectivity and non-discrimination. While mandatory for public purchasing, it leads to better results the private segment as well! I would suggest to add a fourth principle for both: Progress. Plan your work and work your plan. Purchasers should protect themselves against becoming the victim of shifting priorities with their organizations. I enjoy seeing that our software and consulting services produce tangible results because they really help purchasers sticking to these 4 principles! We started with a single successful purchasing project in 2000, now we have hundreds of cases to validate our cause. Look at the numbers.

In most organizations, purchasing does not yet have enough priority. I use three key pillars to increase awareness and raise the importance of purchasing: Prioritize, Organize and Execute. Top Management needs to be involved to ensure enough priority, and in case of public procurement, enough attention to stay within the realm of public purchasing laws. To improve the Organize and Execute pillars, organizations need to develop clear and practical processes and procedures in which the Negometrix software offers distinct support. Especially in large and complex organizations, a purchasing department can add value by digitalizing the specification, ordering and invoicing process.

What is purchasing excellence? Lowest Price, best product, satisfied end-users? In my vision, purchasing excellence is achieved when all such relevant elements are methodically considered and prioritized in procurement decisions. Time and again, this proofs to be a challenge without out of the box answers. A mix of professional external consultancy and methodical hand-on software as back-bone is a powerful solution solving a wide range of procurement puzzles. Meeting this challenge head on is something that brings out the best in me, every day.

During my studies I was instantly triggered when I came in contact with procurement. It is a business environment which is rapidly changing and professionalizing from an ordering activity to a much more strategic function which contributes to the competitive power of an organization. That makes procurement exciting! In recent years organizations primarily focused on increasing their sales and market share. Today they are also focusing more on costs. By making procurement more professional organizations get more grip on their costs. They will therefore increase margins, even in times of economic downturn, and be able to increase their profit. With the powerful E-sourcing tool and my fresh look on procurement I will give my full commitment to professionalizing your procurement processes and never forget that the results really count!

Purchasing is a craft. Choosing the right supplier yields an organization purchasing benefits, quality and profit and leads to a greater competitive edge. However, selecting the right supplier is a new challenge in every purchasing process. How does the purchasing agent get the right information from the potential suppliers? How does the purchasing agent (a buyer?) come up with the right selection criteria to correctly assess and compare every offer? How does the purchasing agent obtain the best price and quality? In other words, going through the purchasing process requires specific knowledge and skills. Negometrix’ procurement platform combined with a solid advice can help you in your search for the right supplier. I hope to support you in the future as your purchasing consultant.

Whether a company can perform successfully may depend on the degree of good procurement by that company. Good procurement can be a considerable advantage, but it is not always that easy to realize. Well structured Requests for Information (RFI’s), a sound price / quality deliberation and a traceable communication and decision making process are usually critical success factors in a procurement process. I am convinced that the Negometrix platform can make an essential contribution to this process for various companies. The strength of our platform not only lies in realizing cost reductions, but also in the clear presentation of the demands and wishes of the procurer. I will gladly be of assistance to help, advise and support you to realize these results with our software.
