In February 2000 Negometrix was established (as EumediX - European Medical Exchange). In 3 months time 10 software engineers built the first web based version of a platform for purchasing for hospitals. On Tuesday 13 June 2000 the first live Internet tender took place in hospital Leyenburg, The Hague. The innovative project provided considerable and unexpected high saving of 16%. The responsible Purchasing Manager was instantly enthusiastic. Although the platform has improved in the course of the years in all kinds of areas and a lots of extra modules have been added, in 2008 the core is the same as in 2000: An interactive web based module accessible to both sellers and buyers. This core module contains a multi-attribute supply and demand analysis with on-line dynamic quotation algorithms calculating the Best Buy proposal. Numerous patents have been submitted on our unique and novel core methodology. In 2001, the name Negometrix has been adopted to indicate that the platform is more widely usable than for Hospitals only. Thus KLM and HBG were one of the first enthusiastic non-care customers and achieved savings of millions euro.

A milestone for Negometrix represented the cooperation with NVZ Association of Hospitals in 2003, which provided a strong return in the Dutch care sector. Dutch hospitals have access the same functionality as other Negometrix customers but through another Internet site (with additional features): www.nvz-inkopers.nl.

Today, the Negometrix platform hosts many purchasing projects every day in many different sectors. More than 50 hospitals use our software, but also the (semi-) public institutions such as Social Housing Groups (sa called Corporaties), municipalities, universities, the central government (Treasury, Internal Affairs, Defence, and the National Tax authority. In the private sector we boast HEMA, Sligro, Bouwmaat as recent references. Negometrix services buyer end-users but also with purchasing consultants or associations such as the NVZ and Intrakoop.
